Do I need to know coding or be technical?
Not at all. If you can open an app and type a message, you can use Scout. The install is one command you copy and paste — Scout does everything else and talks to you in plain English throughout.
What is Claude Code? Do I need a subscription?
Claude Code is an AI assistant that runs on your computer, made by Anthropic — the company behind Claude AI. Scout is a plugin that lives inside Claude Code. You install Claude Code once for free from claude.ai/code. Scout also requires an active Claude Pro subscription (~₹1,700/mo from Anthropic) — this is what powers Scout's AI. The Claude Pro fee is separate from the Scout license fee.
Will Scout apply to jobs I wouldn't want?
No. During setup you tell Scout exactly what you're looking for — job titles, locations, industries, and your minimum salary. Scout only applies to roles that match all your criteria. Nothing embarrassing gets sent.
What job boards does Scout search?
Scout searches 33+ sources across 7 groups every night — LinkedIn (including the Recommended and Top Applicant feeds), Indeed, Naukri, Wellfound, YC Jobs, Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, Workday, Hirist, iimjobs, Instahyre, Cutshort, and international boards in UAE, Singapore, UK, Germany, and the Netherlands. Group G also reads iimjobs, Naukri, and Indeed job alert emails from your Gmail inbox — adding 20–50 curated matches per run that the boards have already personalised for you. Scout auto-applies to ATS portals; login-walled boards get materials prepared and queued for your one-click review.
Will my resume be fabricated or changed without me knowing?
No. Your job titles, employer names, employment dates, and degrees are locked and never touched. Scout only rewrites bullet emphasis to match the job description — using your real experience. Every tailored resume must score ATS ≥ 95 before Scout submits it, and your original file is always preserved.
Is my personal data safe? Where does it go?
Everything runs on your own computer. Your resume, contact details, and application history never leave your machine and never go to any server. That's the core design principle of the plugin — total privacy.
Can I try Scout before paying?
Yes. Your first run is free — no card needed. Scout searches all 33+ sources and scores every match in full. On the free run it submits 7 applications (2 with deep tailoring and a custom cover letter, 5 with fast tailoring); every other match is shown and unlocks when you upgrade. Paid plans remove all limits.

It also covers regional boards like Naukri, iimjobs, Hirist, and Instahyre for the South and Southeast Asia market. International roles are flagged separately in your morning digest.
Does Scout write cover letters?
Yes. For every role you're a strong match for (score ≥ 70), Scout writes a personalised cover letter referencing the company and role, saved as a PDF alongside your tailored resume — on your machine.
I was just laid off — how quickly can Scout help?
Scout can be running tonight. Install takes one command and setup about 3 minutes. Many users wake up to 20–40 applications already sent on day one. If you've received a layoff letter, you also qualify for 50% off all plans.
How do I get started?
